Having started his teaching career in Wolverhampton, John moved to Birmingham to take on the role of head of department in an inner city school.

Working originally in the secondary phase, his experience has been widened across the phases and scope of educational establishments in Birmingham. He is committed to seeing all children enjoying and gaining success in Mathematics whilst at the same time developing into thinking, caring and well rounded people.

John has always had a keen interest in the contribution modern technology makes in the Mathematics classroom. He is the author of collections of computer software used widely throughout the country.

John has made presentations for the Mathematical Association and written for national mathematical educational publications. He has also been part of a national working group looking at the future of lT in Mathematics.

John is OFSTED trained and managed the Mathematics team at Birmingham's Advisory and Support Service in his role as the Teacher Adviser Coordinator (Mathematics).

In August 1998 he took up a new position at the Patana School in Bangkok, Thailand, where he is now Director of Campus Technology Systems.
