Parents and Mathematics

A booklet has been produced for all Birmingham schools giving examples of successful projects around the city involving parents. The text only version of this booklet is available here. Issue four of "Start Counting", the Year of Numeracy newsletter contained a photocopy master of a leaflet schools might wish to send home to parents. The leaflet gives ideas of how parents might help their children's numeracy development in the 85% of time they are not in school. The Basic Skills Agency will be producing a colour leaflet called "Count and Work it Out Together" for parents and children aged 3-5. It should be ready in the second half of the Autumn term 1997.
