Discover mathematics outside the classroom by producing a maths trail. An excellent opportunity for pupils to be involved devising puzzles, problems and challenges for other pupils to enjoy.

This competition is open to Secondary and Primary Schools working together to produce a NUMBER TRAIL based on the area surrounding the Primary School.

Presentations must be submitted to the "Mathematics team", MEC by October 1st 1997. |
Final judging and presentation of prizes will take place during Maths week in November 1997. |

All entrants must submit a completed copy of their trail and a visual display of their pupils at work.
Finalists will be asked to give a verbal presentation.
The judging criteria:
- Process: collaboration;
- Presentations of trail;
- Maths content;
- Completed booklet by primary;
- Display/talk at a judging day.
The emphasis throughout on PUPIL INPUT.
