Plaque marks 15 year school spell

On Thursday February 12 a plaque was unveiled to celebrate Daphne Brutons' 15 year spell as head of governors.
The plaque also commemorates the opening of the school in 1954 and 13 year old Jane Morgan who was killed in an accident while on her way home from the school in 1977.

Victorian family drama

On February 4, 5 & 6 a captivated audience was transported back in time as they followed the true story of a Victorian family caught up in a disaster.
Produced by the head of drama, Wendy Mason, the play tells of an explosion on Friday January 19 1917 at the Silvertown Dynamite Company, which devastated the factory and many of the neighbouring homes.
Mrs Mason said this was one of the most challenging productions the young performers had tackled so far.


School mufti raises £400.

School mufti raies £400

On Friday February 6 pupils dressed down and staff dressed up at a non-uniform day. It was in a good cause as they raised £200 for UNICEF and £200 for Tiverton District Youth Forum








Artists in Residence

From February 23 until March 13, three artists have been at school working in the Art Department.
Penny Florence - a textile artist, Conor Wilson - a ceramic sculptor and Ros Cuthbert - a painter. They spent one week each in school and all pupils who did art worked with one of them.All three artists are from the South West of England and the money to pay for their residentencies is supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of England.It is planned to have an exhibition of the pupils and artists work in the summer term.It has been a very successful 3 weeks.


Amy HeardHere is a picture of Amy Heard with her final ceramic model on the theme "Discovery". It was inspired by the work of Giorgio de Chirico, and is part of her GCSE Art course work.
