Workshop pic The Technology department are a committed team who strive to deliver excellence at all levels. We constantly scrutinise our progress, the active development of our curriculum being of prime importance. As a result our exam performance is above both local and national statistics. We are an expanding department with specialist teachers in all areas. Staffing is stable and we consider ourselves comparatively well resourced.

KS3
Pupils in the lower school study the national curriculum and follow a common integrated course with modules of work in Mirror project pic

KS4
In the upper school all pupils follow full GCSE courses in Technology. The pupils opt for one area of study for the duration of the two year course. The options are:Home Economics pic These courses are studied under the NEAB. Childcare and Motor Vehicle are also offered as a GCSE subject, these are examined by the MEG examining board.

Pupils stirring picThe accommodation includes a food Technology room which was refurbished about 10 years ago. The room has adequate provision for the investigation of food products.

The remaining rooms are grouped in a building purpose built around 20 years ago. There are two multimedia workshops which were originally woodwork and metalwork rooms, one graphics and one textiles room which were both refurbished three years ago.

All rooms are well equipped and this provides a stimulating work environment for pupils.
