Challenge 99. Report and photo's.

compass2.gif - 56962 Bytes This event involves navigating a team of six across Dartmoor. The start and finish are at Okehampton army camp. The event is organised by volunteers from the army. The teams are given map references for ten Tors and they have to navigate from one given point to another in the correct order. The distance involved is either 35 miles, 45 miles or 55 miles depending on the age of team members. \there is a time limit on the event. Groups must start at 7.00 am on the Saturday and finish before 5.00 pm on the Sunday. Once the groups have started they must be entirely independent, carrying their own food, clothing and shelter. All kit must be up to the standard set by the organisers.
Saturday February 5th Walk 1 Northern end of Moor, around Okehampton camp.
Saturday February 12th Walk 2 Western side of North Moor.
Saturday March 4th Walk 3 Eastern side of North Moor.
Friday March 17th - Saturday March 18th Walk / Camp 4 South Moor Figure of eight based on Princetown.
Friday March 31st - Saturday April 1st Walk / camp 5 Owley, Middle of Moor, Princetown.
Sunday April 9th O.A.T.S. Walk South to North Moor 27 miles or Postbridge to Okehampton 13 miles.
Sunday April 30th Walk 6 Circuit of North Moor.(If possible as it is at the end of the holiday.)
Saturday May 6th Exmoor Challenge Yrs 7, 8 & 9. There will be a separate training calender for this.
Friday May 124th - Sunday May 146th Ten Tors Challenge Event Weekend 35 miles or 45 miles
Tuesday June 13th Ten Tors Presentation evening.
