Norah
was born on the 14th April 1932. In the summer of 1933 she was
taken to her first Miners; Gala, or Big Meeting. Her mother was Olive Foster,
nee Newson |
This
was taken outside the house in Hall Avenue where Norah was born. Olive made
the clothes. The hat was made of angora wool. |
This
beautiful baby was Doris, Norah's sister. She was born in March 1930 but died
in February 1931, possibly of meningitis. |

Norah's
brother Ronald, taken in 1939 at the County School in Ushaw Moor. He was five
years old. |
Aged
about 2 this was taken in 1934. The original was not coloured. The tint was
added by Ronald some years later. |
