Norah was born on the 14th April 1932. In the summer of 1933 she was taken to her first Miners; Gala, or Big Meeting. Her mother was Olive Foster, nee Newson

This was taken outside the house in Hall Avenue where Norah was born. Olive made the clothes. The hat was made of angora wool.

This beautiful baby was Doris, Norah's sister. She was born in March 1930 but died in February 1931, possibly of meningitis.

Norah's brother Ronald, taken in 1939 at the County School in Ushaw Moor. He was five years old.

Aged about 2 this was taken in 1934. The original was not coloured. The tint was added by Ronald some years later.
