How you can help your child
Children are given reading books to take home every day. Parents are asked to try to read with their children every night. Please make sure they bring the books back to school daily. Plastic zipped wallets or reading bags are provided to keep the reading books in should either the reading books or the reading bags be lost, parents will be expected to pay money towards replacing them.
Please read every day with your child this will really help them progress
Join the Library
Books can be borrowed from Green Street Public Library free of charge.
School Bookshop
There is a school bookshop every Friday at 3.10 p.m. Children may buy stamps worth 10p, 20p or 50p which are put into a stamp book and exchanged for books. Stamps may be bought every morning in the hall (see Mrs. Keary)
Toy Library
Toys and games can be borrowed every Wednesday from 2.45 p.m. at a cost of 20p a week.
Homework
Children in junior classes Y5 and Y6 are normally given homework for the weekend. We would appreciate your help and co-operation in ensuring this work is completed and returned to school each Monday.
Children in other classes are occasionally given tasks to complete or spelling and timetables to learn. The teachers and especially your children would appreciate your interest and help with such tasks.
