The School day
Nursery
Morning session 9.00 - 11.30 a.m.
Afternoon session 12.45 - 3.15 p.m.
Nursery children MUST be handed over to staff by a responsible adult and collected by a person known to the staff. Please be prompt. Young children can quickly become upset if they are not collected promptly.
School
School begins at 8.55 a.m.
We ask you to ensure that your child is on time every morning. Children find it difficult and embarrassing to enter a classroom when the rest of his/her class are already working or sitting quietly. Junior children are allowed in the playground from 8.40 a.m. We suggest that Infant children should not be left unattended. (In very wet weather children may wait in the cloakroom areas but not in the classrooms.)
Playtime 10.30 - 10.40 a.m.
Children are supervised by a teacher and welfare assistant at this time. Children may bring an apple or biscuits (1 or 2) and a drink. No crisps or sweets are allowed at this time.
Playtime 2.00 - 2.10 p.m.
(Infant classes only)Children are not expected to have drinks and biscuits at this time.
School ends at 3.15 p.m.
Please collect your child on time. Children can easily become distressed if they are left waiting for a parent or relative. Sometimes you may be unable to collect your child or you may be unavoidably detained. Please do telephone the school and arrange for a trusted friend or relative to collect him/her.
