A TRIP INTO THE PAST A party of American schoolchildren and their teachers visited city Bronze age site Flag Fen as a part of a two-week exchange trip with city youngsters. The impressed visitors from a school in Worcester, Massachusetts, were given a guided tour of the valuable archaeological site, learning what life was like in the area more than 3000 years ago. The visit was the brainchild of Terry Jones, of Stanground school, Peterborough Road, Farcet. He said: "The invitation to come to Peterborough followed a visit made by our pupils to Worcester last year" Both children and teachers were obviously enjoying there first visit to the city. George Shattuck, who teaches at Burncoat school in Worcester, said: It's a chance for both sides to see how other people live. The children are really enjoying coming here and seeing the culture and history of the area." Other highlights of the trip have included visits to London, Cambridge and Boston.
