The school ran a scheme for Parents And Children Together (PACT).

In PACT we did work on the computers about sounds like a, ay, ai, aw, ie, etc. and then we put them in sentences on the computer. We played literacy games like Upwords, I Love Spelling, Pass the Bomb and Scrabble. We did tests like ringing words and putting words in sentences. On Tuesdays we did work with our mams and on the last day we did some baking. We did all this with Miss Purvis and Miss Heslop on Mondays and Tuesdays.

In PACT some children and our parents worked together on computers. We wanted to get better working with other people and improving our work. On the first day we had a test and at the end of every session we would play a word game. We would have a piece of work finished on the computer like a story or write words that have different sounds. The bit I liked best was being with my friend and our mothers. For a treat we had a cookery lesson. At the end of PACT we had another test to show how much we improved. We also got a certificate and we really enjoyed working in PACT.

When our mums came in we did letters, newspapers and even more things. We played games like Scrabble, Pass the Bomb, I Love Spelling and Upwords. I sat next to Candiece and David. Shane sat next to Sharleen and Michael sat next to Jonathan. It was really fun with Miss Purvis, she was the best teacher ever. All it was about really was English. The course was to learn English. There were two teachers, Miss Purvis and Miss Heslop. We had some testsclike listening and English. We all had a folder, mine was pale yellow. They were big in weight when we finished. It was very good. I am so pleased I went now. I didn't think it was going to be that good.

Last term my friends and I went to PACT. We were there 3 days a week and it went up to ten weeks. When we went in we said 'Good afternoon, Miss Purvis' and she said to us, 'Good afternoon. Now we are going to work for an hour then go on the computers.' By two weeks we had lots of work in our folders. At 2 o'clock we copied our work on the computers and when we were finished we played a game of our choice. There was I Love Spelling or Scrabble. We chose I Love Spelling then it was time to go home and we packed up.

We had an English test on the third day. We did Silent Bingo and Shane came first. We made cakes called Crispy Cakes. After that we went on I Love Spelling. When I went home I ate the cakes. We went back on Thursday and did some more work. On the last day we made cakes with our mams. We emailed Miss Duffy and went on the internet. It came to 3 o'clock and we had to say thank you.
