* OUR SCHOOL INSPECTION *
by Kelly-Marie yr 4

Mrs Lee

Mrs Lee hardly ever talked to us. When we were in assembly when there was something funny going on she never laughed. Whenever you turned to Mrs Lee she started writing things down. I felt a bit scared when Mrs Lee came. But she did a good job because whenever she saw that the teachers were explaining something to us she always wrote the things down that the teacher said that were good.

Mr King

Mr King is very nice because once when I was stuck on my Maths he came and helped me work it out. Sometimes I asked him what the word was in my book because I was stuck. Once I was writing something down and he looked at me and he wrote something down.

Mrs Parkinson

Mrs Parkinson wasn't an Education Inspector, she was just seeing how children got on with each other. She did quite a good job because she actually knew how the teachers should treat their children.

OUR INSPECTION
By Rachael yr 5

When the Inspectors first came I was really nervous. But after I read to Mr King I began to feel a little less nervous, but I still was. I hoped that they wouldn’t look through my books with me explaining things, but they did look through them. Although they didn’t look through my books while I watched, Mrs Crisp said they looked through a lot of books (which I didn’t like the sound of). Mr King looked through my Technology book and asked me some questions about my work and whether I understood it.
On Tuesday I wasn’t nervous because I knew there wasn’t anything to be nervous about. In some lessons I didn’t even notice they were there. The Inspectors sat at the back of a lot of the lessons.

:( THE INSPECTORS :(
By Russell yr 4

From 17th to 19th of June the inspectors were here. Their names were:

Mr King, Mrs Lee and on the 19 of June Mrs Parkinson was here.

When I heard the Inspectors were here I got really worried because I had never seen an Inspector before. I hated it when they were here because they were always watching us closely and scribbling notes down. I spoke with Mrs Lee and she was a very nice lady who was always willing to talk to us. I had to go and read to Mr King and he was always scribbling down notes because I made a few mistakes as I was frightened. I thought that the inspection was fair because I think they got all the information they needed by talking to and watching us.
I'm glad they have gone! It's a lot more peaceful now and there is a lot of talk about the inspection. :(

OUR SCHOOL INSPECTION
By Vicky yr 5

Penpot On 17th, 18th and 19th June 1996 we had inspectors come to our school. One lady was called Mrs Lee and one man was called Mr King. They came on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Then we had another lady come on the Wednesday, she was called Mrs Parkinson. She was really nice because she had a soft voice. They were all really nice. Every time one of them looked over my shoulder I was very nervous and every time they asked me a question I didn’t quite know what to say. But I managed to say something. I’m very surprised because I thought they would be strict and tell us off because we didn’t finish our work off. They came into Assemblies with us and wrote down notes about us if we sang nice or if we were silly or kept on laughing.
For the first three days everyone was good and it was quite funny because everyone acted as though they didn’t have any tongues. Mr King was nice and in Science he wanted to look at my science book but he said "When did you do this?" and "What is it about?" I was very nervous but I did start to get to know him. I don’t remember if Mrs Lee came over to talk to me. She was really nice as she was not strict at all.
Mrs Parkinson who came on the last day was also nice, she said "Your writing is neat" and I said "Thank you" and then I went a bit shy. When they went I suppose I did miss them a bit.
They looked at the school as well. They liked us very much because we weren’t rude to them and they smiled at us.
