The Quest - Part 1

The Quest
LiteStar was a kind boy. His sister, Penny, was also kind but she was in a mood today because someone had splashed permanent ink all over her washing which was drying on the line. LiteStar was asleep when Penny came rushing in and cried "LiteStar, wake up, quickly!""Huh?" remarked LiteStar.
"Someone's wrote a message in the same ink as on my washing on our house! It says 'Come to the forest...'"
"Well, if you want me, I will be in the forest, and when tea is ready, blow the golden horn!" LiteStar said. So LiteStar ventured into the forest
and met an evil-looking creature. It hissed at him and said, "Goo Nurth firty pasees, and say to the man 'Hippopotami'," And with that, it vanished. LiteStar went North thirty paces, and there was no-one to be seen. Lying on the floor, were 5 rune-stones, and a bedroll! He eyed them with his dark eyes, and noticed a trap."If I lift that rune-stone, a net will catch me and tie me to the tree!" he said out loud to himself.
"Very good!" a voice shouted. A man dropped out of one of the nearby trees, and walked up to him and asked "Are you LiteStar of the south village?"
"Yes, I am" replied LiteStar.
"Then what is the password the WilderBeast gave you?"
"Umm... Happyhippyopotamus!" LiteStar exclaimed.
"Hoho!" the man laughed. "It's hippopotami!" he said. "Take these stones and the bedroll. Oh, and if you want a weapon, shoot a tree with a magical arrow." he said, rotating a branch in one of the trees, disabling the trap. LiteStar did this, and when he shot the tree, it revealed a shiny golden axe!
"Can I take it?" LiteStar asked, knowing the man would say yes.
"Sure you can take it. But you mind it, it's very sharp!"
"Thanks. I will look after it very well." LiteStar said.
"Do you know why you are here?" asks the man.
"Yes, I do. I am searching for someone who splashed ink on our washing. Do you know anything about it?" enquires LiteStar.
"Hoho!" the man laughed, in his ancient voice. "The WilderBeast put that ink there to lure you to me. Don't worry, it will disappear! Really though, me and my companions decided you were very brave and should rescue Princess Ariel from the mystic warp of confusion, deep in the centre of the forest."
"Oh no! All on my own in the warps? That's impossible!"
"No, we'll come with you, don't worry. Apparently, there are sacred colonies in there and they are constantly annoyed by a demon. It keeps breaking in and eating or burning all of their stocks."
"And I have got to kill it as well, I suppose."
"With me, Gothmog, Elija and Jade. I'm Jason.
"OK, you go and get your companions, and I will get my things packed.
LiteStar explained to his family where he was going, and then he headed back to the forest...
