The Friendly Monster
As Jenny stepped out onto the jelly floor she started to bounce. She could not stop
bouncing.
"Come on LiteStar," shouted Jenny, bouncing away. LiteStar followed on
behind. Suddenly they bounced right down a hole.
"Oh my gosh!" they both shouted, falling to the ground and landing on
something soft. It was a sticky, stretchy stuff and they were stuck. Then they heard a
whistling sound and out popped a monster.
"Hello," he said, "will you be my friend?"
"Of course we will," said LiteStar. "We would be better friends if you
could get us out of this!"
"I'll help you."
The monster blew his whistle. Jenny and LiteStar jumped onto the monsters back.
"Come on," called the monster, "Lets go for a ride."
He took them to the Land of Funny Noses where they went for a walk. They saw wild
mushrooms, lots of flowers and a rainbow. They saw a castle and many more friendly
monsters. Jenny and LiteStar now had many friends.
The monster took LiteStar and Jenny back to their time machine, but they did not know
that another monster had crawled into it. This monster changed its shape and hid in the
corner.
LiteStar and Jenny invited the friendly monster to tea. They had fish and chips. The
monster had never had fish and chips before. He enjoyed them. They had a great time until
the monster said, "Would you like to stay the night?"
In the morning they said goodbye to their new friend and went on their way. They didn't
know that there was a monster still in the corner of the time machine. They went home and
the monster crawled out while they were telling Jenny's Mum all about their adventures.
The monster started to eat everything that he could see!
