Amun-Ra

The 'hidden light', or Amun-Ra, is the god of creation, wealth and power. He was viewed as the patron deity of Thebes and by Dynasty XVIII was called "The king of the Gods" in recognition of his supremacy over the other gods. Some traditions say that Amun-Ra was created by himself though older lore says that Thoth, god of knowledge, created him. By Dynasty XIX-XX, Amun-Ra was thought of as "an invisible creative power which was the source of all life in heaven, and on the earth, and in the great deep, and in the underworld, and which made itself manifest under the form of Ra". Additionally, Amun-Ra appears to have been the protector of any pious devotee in need.
