This web based student project was written as an entry for the 11-18 category for the 1999 STEM Projects Awards. The project is based on information contained in the Chemical Industry Gallery at the Science Museum.
The main aims of the project are:-

| Almost every element of daily life is affected by the products of the chemical industry. This innovative gallery uses historical 'firsts'. The history and current concerns of the following sectors are highlighted: salt and alkali, ammonia and fertilisers, petrochemicals and process control, biotechnology and fine chemicals. |
Project Background
Before starting the project our Year 10 class was divided into groups
containing two or three pupils.
We chose a project which linked together the Chemical Industry Gallery
and the Chemical Economics topic in our GCSE course.
