Durris School was established on 1st January, 2000 following the amalgamation of Crossroads Primary School and Woodlands Primary School. Durris School is housed in the original Woodlands School building, which was built in 1876 and was extended in 1977. Accommodation comprises of a large attractive open plan infant classroom and General Purposes room in the old building and two further classrooms in the extension, one of which is presently used as a resource area. There are two classes in school, the younger children being taken by the early stages teacher and the older pupils by the Head Teacher and the Head Teacher Relief. From April, 2001, Crossroads Nursery became part of Durris School and we are delighted to welcome Mrs Debbie Washington, Nursery Teacher, and Mrs Aileen Sim, Nursery Nurse, to our staff and all the Nursery children.
