The campaign shall be called the "Fight Against Cuts in Education" (F.A.C.E.) campaign.
The aims of the campaign shall be:
a) To contest the continuing cuts in our State Education system
b) To establish proper funding of our State Education System
c) To attain the statutory definition and implementation of national Standards throughout our State Education System.
Affiliation to the campaign shall be open to schools and organisations concerned with education and who support the stated aims of the Campaign, observe its Constitution and pay the appropriate fee.
Each affiliated body shall nominate person/s to whom correspondence will be sent and shall be entitled to one vote.
The campaign is cross-party political. Individual members of the campaign belonging to politically affiliated groups shall not pursue individual political interests whilst carrying out or representing the interests of this campaign. The campaign is set up for the educational good of all children in our country and not for the individual interests of any one member or group of members.
Voting at meetings of the National Action Committee shall be restricted to representatives from each LEA area.
Attendance at meetings of the campaign including the N.A.C. shall be open to all comers.
The management of the campaign shall be vested in a National Action Committee elected annually after due nomination, the committee consisting of 12 members including a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Officer. Consent of a nominee shall be obtained before the nomination is accepted. A quorum of the committee shall be 6 committee members present throughout the meeting.
The National Action Committee shall be formed by parents, school governors and education staff.
The N.A.C. shall meet as often as may be found necessary and desirable and shall have the power to deal with any matters not specifically provided for by this Constitution, consistent with the aims of the campaign.
All fees and moneys collected by the campaign shall be used exclusively in promoting its aims. Payments shall be made only as remuneration for services rendered to the campaign or as reimbursement for authorised expenses incurred on its behalf.
Prime responsibility for the financial affairs of the campaign is vested in the Treasurer, while ultimate responsibility rests with the whole committee. All moneys received shall be deposited in the campaign's bank account.
Statements on behalf of , or in the name of, the campaign shall be made only with the authority of the committee, other than exceptionally by the Chair, Vice-Chair or Secretary.
